On December 31, 2025, the CVM's Superintendência de Relações com o Mercado e Intermediários published Declaratory Act No. 24.603 concerning Capitalist Ltd, which operates under the Carioro brand and the site carioro.com.
The act declares to the market and to the public that the company is not authorized by this Autarquia to solicit clients residing in Brazil, as it is not part of the distribution system provided for in art. 15 of Law No. 6.385 of 1976. The regulator ordered the immediate suspension of any public offering, direct or indirect, to investors residing in Brazil, under a daily fine of R$ 1,000.00, without prejudice to liability for prior violations. The CVM's news release of January 6, 2026 reiterates the order.
What the act supports, and what it does not
The act supports the statement that the CVM found evidence of the conduct described and that the company lacks the authorization required for it. The act does not say that fraud occurred, nor that anyone lost money. This page records the regulator's warning and will begin recording vetted reports, should any come in.
